The new Mercedes E500 is a model of understated sophistication.

Although some critics have said Mercedes have missed a beat with this new design, in terms of performance in its class, the E500 has no equal. The outside may not be what we’re used to but internally not a lot has changed.
The four seater has ample space to fit all passengers very comfortably and for the driver internal controls are easy to find and use. The V8 engine affords nearly 400 in bhp and acceleration is as seemless as you would expect from a Merc.

The new E500 is no doubt a fine car to drive, but whether or not its new design alienates regular Mercedes drivers remains to be seen.
